GILLIS, David ? 76, East Lake Ainslie, died Thursday, January 22, 2004, in Inverness Consolidated Memorial Hospital. Born in Maple Brook, Inverness Co., he was a son of the late Neil C. and Florence A. (MacPherson) Gillis. He was member of St. Mary of the Angels Parish, Glendale, and St. Joseph's Parish, South West Margaree. Surviving are sisters, Peggy (Ainslie) MacDougall, East Lake Ainslie; Marie (Rennie) MacDonald, Long Point; Janette MacVarish, Boston, Mass.; brothers, Donald (Kathleen) Gillis, Port Hawkesbury; Alexander (Patsy) Gillis, Glendale. He was predeceased by brother, Duncan; nephews, Joe MacDonald and Francis Gillis. Visitation will be 2 ? 9 p.m. Sunday, January 25, in Dennis Haverstock Funeral Home, Whycocomagh. Funeral mass will be held 11 a.m. Monday, January 26, in St. Mary of the Angels Roman Catholic Church, Rev. Allan MacPhie officating. Cremation to follow. Burial in the parish cemetery at a later date. Family flowers only. Donations may be made to the Epilepsy Association of Nova Scotia, Canadian Diabetes Association or charity of your choice.
