GOOGOO, Sharon Marie - 45, We'koqma'q First Nation, died Monday, January 9, 2006, in Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney. Born in Sydney, she was a daughter of the late Joel Peter Francis and Martha (Pierro) Gates, and foster daughter of the late Dan K. and Mary Jane (Gould) Stevens. She was a member of Holy Trinity Parish, Waycobah. Surviving are her husband, Angus Michael; daughter, Krista Jane Googoo, Waycobah; sons, Darcy and Ashley, both of Waycobah; sisters, Dorothy (Steve) McPhee, East Bay; Delores (Ian) Brooks, Prince Edward Island; half-sister, Joanne Sylliboy, Truro; brothers, Roger (Margaret) Stevens, Ralph (Belinda) Stevens, Walter (Mary Jane) Stevens, Vincent (Susanne) Stevens, all of Eskasoni; Floyd Mosey, Big Cove, N.B.; Muin (Annette) Bernard, Francis 'Goble' Stevens, both of Eskasoni; grandchildren, Kashtin, Nicholas and Paris Googoo, and Loressa Michael. She was predeceased by brother, Alan Pierro.
Visitation will be will be after 4 p.m. Thursday at the family residence, 81 Subdivision Rd., We'koqma'q. Funeral mass will he held at 11 a.m. Saturday in Holy Trinity Roman Catholic Church, Father Bernie MacDonald officiating. Burial in the parish cemetery.
