GOODICK, Michael Roger 'Mike' - 42, Port Hawkesbury. It is with tremendous sadness that the family announce the untimely passing of Michael Roger Goodick, as the result of a snowmobile accident on Saturday, January 28, 2006, on Hunter's Mountain.
Born in Antigonish on April 29, 1963, and raised in Port Hawkesbury, Michael was a son of Roger and Odell (MacDonald) Goodick, Port Hawkesbury. Mike was a member of the Carpenter's Union, Local 1588, for 20 years. He was a member of the Port Hawkesbury Volunteer Fire Department. Mike mostly loved to spend time with his son, who he always called 'D', short for Dylan. He is survived by his loving wife, Lori (Briand); his beautiful children, Dylan (his best friend) and Lauryn, his baby daughter; his only brother and best friend, Lee, Halifax; several aunts and uncles, and lastly all of the people who knew and loved him.
Visitation will be 7-9 p.m. this evening and 2-4, 7-9 p.m. Wednesday with a vigil service 8:30 p.m., all in Dennis Haverstock Funeral Home, Port Hawkesbury. Funeral mass will be 11 a.m. Thursday in St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church, Father Bill Crispo officiating. Burial in the parish cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a trust fund for Michael's children at the Port Hawkesbury branch of Scotia Bank. Words of comfort may be forwarded to the family at: www.haverstocks.com
