GOOGOO, Gladys Marie - 69, We'koqma'q First Nation, formerly of Eskasoni, died Monday, May 22, 2006, at home surrounded by her loving family and many friends. Born in We'koqma'q, she was a daughter of the late William and Nancy (Gould) Paul. She was a member of Holy Trinity Parish, We'koqma'q. Gladys was well-known for traveling far and wide to play bingo. She was devoted to Saint Anne and made many pilgrimages to Ste-Anne-de-Beaupré. She was an avid traveler and enjoyed camping on Chapel Island. Surviving are daughters, Beverly, Nancy (James) Martin, Carol, all of We'koqma'q; Marjorie (Barry) Pierro, Wagmatcook; Charlene Rose, We'koqma'q; sons, Joseph Paul, Eskasoni; Charles Googoo, We'koqma'q; sisters, Pauline (Peter) Poulette, Monica Paul, Barbara (Jake) Denny, all of Eskasoni; grandchildren, John, James, Natasha, Nigel, Megan, Jordan; great-granddaughter, Maylene. She was predeceased by her husband, Simon; sisters, Helen Paul, Josephine Paul, Annie Mae (Colin) Paul, Caroline (Al) Oakley; brothers, William, Joseph Henry, her twin Joseph Vincent, Cyril, Stephen.
Visitation will be at the family residence, 21 Reservation Rd., We'koqma'q, after 7 p.m. today. Funeral mass will be 11 a.m. Saturday in Holy Trinity Roman Catholic Church, Father Bernie MacDonald officiating. Burial in the parish cemetery.
