GUEST, Cora Eveline – 95, Glencoe Station, Inverness Co., it is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Cora Eveline Guest on Thursday, November 4th 2010 in Inverary Manor, Inverness. Born in Dunmore, she was a daughter of the late Fredwin and Lexie (MacKenzie) Cameron. Cora was a life-long member of St. Stephen's United Church, Port Hood. Surviving are daughters, Gloria (Robert Younker) Halifax, Marilyn (Cecil Verge) New Minas, Rosemary, Halifax, Annie, Glencoe Station, Alice (Jim Usatis) Toronto, Ruth (Warren McNamara), Glencoe Station, Edna, Halifax; son Cameron, North Bay; 10 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, John Arnold, sisters Jean Gratto, Edna Boucher, brothers Roy and David. Cora was a homemaker who devoted her life to her family. She was a voracious reader and a life-long learner. She loved nature and had a dark green thumb evidenced by her vegetable and flower gardens. Her creativity was expressed in her many quilts, rug hooking and other needlework. She played the Hawaiian guitar and she enjoyed a variety of music, everything from Mario Lanzo to Buddy MacMaster. She had a wonderful sense of humour and was a gracious lady throughout her lifetime. Visitation will be held Saturday, November 6th from 4-8 p.m. at the Port Hood Resting Place. Funeral service will be held Sunday, November 7th at 2 p.m. in St Stephen's United Church, Port Hood, with Pastor Maggie Plant officiating. Burial will be in Union Protestant Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to St. Stephen's United Church Building Fund or any charity of your choice.
