Googoo, Keith Daniel – 38, We’koqmaq First Nation, passed away Monday November 21, 2011 at home. Born in Baddeck, he was a son of the late Angus and Mary K. (Young) Googoo. Keith was a fun loving, caring man who was a dear friend to many people. Keith was a huge fan of playing hockey with his friends and spent a lot of time cheering for his favourite NHL Hockey Team the Colorado Avalanche. Keith will always be remembered for his infectious smile, kind heart, generousity and friendships. He was also well-known as a hard working fisherman for his community. He was a member of the Holy Trinity Roman Catholic Church, We’koqmaq. He was a loving, caring, devoted son, brother, uncle, nephew, godfather and friend. Surviving are his siblings, John Angus; Sue Evans (Ray Evans); Cynthia Sark (George Sark); Stephen T. Googoo; Eleanor Googoo; all of We’koqmaq; aunts, Josephine Peck, Wagmatook; Caroline Marshall, Membertou; Jane Abram, Millbrook; nieces and nephews, Elaine, Kira, Cynthia, Asha, Jade, Sara, R.J., George Jr.; great-nephew, Andrew; godchildren, Shayne, Wesley, Cynthia, Brady, Jali and Peyton. Visitation will be after 4 p.m. Thursday in the family residence, 9221 Trans Canada Hwy 105, We’koqmaq. Funeral Mass will be 11a.m. Saturday, November 26, from Blessed Katerie Parish, Holy Trinity Roman Catholic Church, with Father Robert McNeil officiating. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to a charity of one’s choice. Funeral arrangements for Keith are under the care and direction of the Dennis Haverstock Funeral Home, Whycocomagh.
