Gillis, Margaret Ann – 96, Blues Mills, Inverness Co., which occurred Thursday, June 14, 2012, in the Port Hawkesbury Nursing Home. Born in Dunakin, Inverness Co., she was a daughter of the late Murdoch and Mary Ann (MacKinnon) MacDonald.
Margaret was a homemaker and a member of Stewart United Church, Whycocomagh. Surviving are daughter, Mary (Malcolm) Jeffers, Blues Mills; son, Sandy, Blues Mills; sister, Florence MacKinnon, Invenary Manor, Inverness; grandchildren, Leslie and Blair. She was predeceased by her husband, Whitman, son, Whitman Jr., brothers, Roddie, Allan, John Archie, Willie, Murdoch and Gordon.
Visitation will be 2-8 p.m. Sunday in Dennis Haverstock Funeral Chapel, Whycocomagh. Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday from Stewart United Church, with Rev. David MacLean officiating. Interment in Stewartdale Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to a charity of your choice. Words of comfort may be forwarded to the family at: www.haverstocks.com
