Greencorn, Robert Henry 'Rob' - 87, Canso, Guysborough County, passed away on Thursday, September 27, 2012 in Eastern Memorial Hospital, Canso. Rob was born on April 12, 1925 in Canso, he was a son of the late William and Eliza Greencorn.
He was a member of All Saints Anglican Church, Canso. In his younger years Rob worked as a fish cutter at the fish plant in Canso. When he was in his 40’s he started his own taxi service "Rob’s Taxi" for over 20 years.
Rob is survived by his daughters, Alfreda (Francis) Casey and Margaret (Hughie) Boudreau, both of Little Dover; sons, David (Helena) Canso; Donald (Karen), Half Island Cove; Darryl (Ruth), Canso; niece, Hazel MacKenzie, Amherst; grandchildren, Robert, Henry, Kathleen, Christopher, Nadine, April, Colin and Bob; great-grandchildren, Tyler and Jamie; special friends Wendy Avery and Juanita McPhee. He was predeceased by his wife, Florence Greencorn, and long time companion Dorothy Avery; sister, Cass; brothers, Ludrey and Chester.
Visitation will be 2-9 p.m. Sunday in Dennis Haverstock Funeral Home, Canso. Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Monday in All Saints Anglican Church, Canso with Rev. Darroch Fagan officiating. Burial in the All Saints Cemetery, Canso.
