Please share a memory of Stanley to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Googoo, Stanley Francis – 67, Waycobah First Nation, passed away on Thursday, August 29, 2013, in the Victoria County Memorial Hospital, Baddeck. Born in Whycocomagh, Inverness Co., he was a son of the late Michael Peter and Ellen (Sylliboy) Googoo.
Stanley was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, godfather, uncle and friend. He will be sadly missed by so many and his love and friendship will be remembered in all our hearts. The love he had for his wife and family was the strength that helped him through the past few months. He was a man of faith and did so much for his parish because he was such a kind person with a great heart. He enjoyed decorating his home for Christmas, right down to Santa Clause and his sleigh. He did this for all the children of the community to enjoy. His love of sports was evident in the many years of competing in canoe races and in snowmobile races. Hunting was also a sport he enjoyed. He was water commissioner for Waycobah for 24 years. He also did snow removal for over 40 years. He was a commercial oyster fisherman and scuba diver. He owned his own construction business, he was a canoe racer. He was a member of Blessed Kateri Parish, Holy Trinity Church, Waycobah and he devoted his entire life to the church.
The family at this time would like to thank Dr. Genge, Dr. Chow and the nursing staff at the Victoria County Memorial Hospital, while Stanley was in the hospital.
