GREENCORN, Jean -87, Half Island Cove, Guysborough Co., went to be with her Lord on Tuesday, October 20, 2015, in the Milford Haven Home for Special Care, Guysborough. She lived most of her life in Half Island Cove until she moved to Canso with her son, Ronnie and daughter-in-law, Beatrice.
Born in Half Island Cove, Jean was a daughter of the late George and Dale (Greencorn) Greencorn. Jean is survived by her loving sons, Ronnie (Beatrice), Canso; Victor (Sandra), Little Dover; Vivian (Lawrence) Williams whom she thought of as a daughter, Greenwich. Jean was predeceased by her parents; son, Carson; sister, Una "Marie" and great-grandson, Dustin. Jean was a loving and caring grandmother and great-grandmother to her grandchildren, Annette (Glenn) Paul (Margaret), Roy (Heather), Carson and Shawn (Kim) and also to her great-grandchildren, Skyler, Chayne, Brandon, Lacey, Jonah, Bryanna, Brayden, Laura, Dylan, Victoria and Luke.
Jean will be missed by her many cousins and friends and other relatives who always made time to come visit, she loved company! Jean will be especially missed by her dear friend, Alice Hanlon, who took the time to take her to church and to her many musical outings. Jean was a homemaker and was busy looking after other people all her life. She enjoyed music and company. Jean was a constant and devoted member of her church.
The family would like to give a special thanks to the Dr’s and staff at the Milford Haven Home for the special care and kindness shown to Jean during her stay there.
Visitation will be Friday, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. in the Half Island Cove Baptist Church and from where a Celebration of Life will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday with Rev. David Wheeler officiating. Burial will follow in Bayview Baptist Cemetery, Half Island Cove. Memorial donations may be made to Half Island Cove Baptist Church or to the Milford Haven Home for Special Care, Guysborough. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Dennis Haverstock Funeral Home, Canso. Words of comfort may be forwarded to the family at www.haverstocks.com
