Greencorn, Hans Jurgen – Age 58 of Mulgrave, Guysborough Co., passed away at home on Thursday, July 7, 2016. He was born in Letter, West Germany and came to Canada at the age of 5 months. He was a son of the late Phillip and Elizabeth "Marg" (Brendel) Greencorn. Hans was an avid woodsman and spent many years working the chainsaw. He also worked for Martin Marietta, and made a major move to Fort McMurray where he worked with Suncor for 4 years. Due to an accident in October, Hans returned home to Mulgrave where he was taken under his baby sister’s wing until the time of his death. He is survived by daughters, Stacey (Scott) Ridell, Dartmouth; Ashley (Mitchell), Fort McMurray; son, Hans, Fort McMurray. He is also survived by grandsons, Cole, Hunter and granddaughters, Emma and Ava; sisters, Helga, Mulgrave; Diane (Archie), Mulgrave; brothers, Paul, Mulgrave; Edward (Wanda), Port Hawkesbury; Alphonse (Jackie), Port Hawkesbury; Kenny (Sandra), Lincolnville; several nieces and nephews, special nephew, Brian whom he looked forward to seeing daily. Also he leaves behind three close friend’s Tony, Wayne and Kevin. He was predeceased by brother, Kristean; brother-in-law, John B. MacKinnon. Visitation will be held Monday, July 11 in Mulgrave & Area Resting Place from 4-9 p.m. Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, July 12 at 11 a.m. in St. Andrew’s Anglican Church, Mulgrave with Rev. Evelyn Knorr officiating. Burial to follow in St. Andrew’s Cemetery, Mulgrave. Memorial donations may be made in memory of Hans to Canadian Mental Health Association of Nova Scotia, St. Andrew’s Anglican Church, Mulgrave or Mulgrave and Area Resting Place.
