Gillis, Sarah "Sally"– Age 87 years of Port Hawkesbury. Passed peacefully away on Tuesday, August 8, 2017 in the Port Hawkesbury Nursing Home. Born in Glace Bay she was a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Michael Joseph Gillis. Sally was one of eleven children; she was last surviving member of her immediate family. Sally moved Ontario at an early age eventually moving back to Cape Breton. She resided in the Port Hawkesbury Nursing Home the last few years, where the staff and residents became her extended family. Sally’s remains will be brought to St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church on Friday, August 11, 2017 at 9 a.m. for mass. Burial will take place in St. Joseph Parish Cemetery, Port Hawkesbury. Funeral arrangements are under the care and direction of Dennis Haverstock Funeral Home, Port Hawkesbury.
