GOOGOO, Mary Rose- Age 56, We’koqma’q First Nation passed away on Wednesday, November 29, 2017, in Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney. Born in Sydney, she was a daughter of the late Gordon Patrick and Christie Ann (Poulette) Googoo. She was a member of Blessed St. Kateri Parish, We’koqma’q First Nation.
Surviving are her sons, Randall Googoo (Melissa Young), Gordon (Cammeilia) Googoo, both of We’koqma’q; sister, Karen (J.W. "Tiny") Cremo, We’koqma’q; brothers, Chief Roderick (Danita) Googoo, Alexander "Sandy" (Norma Peck), both of We’koqma’q; Gordon (Angela), Toronto; god daughter, Susan Raye Googoo; grandchildren, Serena, Randall Jij, Brent, Cohen, Kaleb, Ayla, Deegan, Teddy; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her daughter, Christie Ann; godchild, Adrian Michael Francis; brother, Gordon Patrick Jr., sister, Norma in infancy.
Visitation will be after 4 p.m. Tuesday in the Multi Purpose Building, 160 Reservation Rd., We’koqma’q. Funeral mass will be 11 a.m. Thursday from Blessed Kateri Parish Holy Trinity Roman Catholic Church, We’koqma’q. Burial at a later date. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Dennis Haverstock Funeral Chapel, Whycocomagh. Words of comfort may be forwarded to the family at www.haverstocks.com
