THORNEYCROFT (RN), Bernice Mamie- 83, St. George’s Channel, Richmond Co., passed away suddenly at home on Monday, November 16, 2015. Born in St. Peter’s she was a daughter of the late Robert John and Marion Catherine (Munroe) Morrison.
Bernice was a retired R.N. having worked many years in Montreal at the Royal Victoria Hospital. She was also an artist and was very proud of her Scottish Heritage. She was a columnist for the Cape Breton Post and its article, Over the Road Matters, for a number of years.
Surviving are her husband of 56 years, Gerry; daughter, Catherine "Cathy" (Brian) Graham, Vernon, Ont; son, Kenneth, Lachine, Que; sisters, Roberta (Kevin) Penny, Sydney Forks; Carole (Benny) MacInnis, Pleasant Hill; brothers, Buddy (Linda) Morrison, Truro; Bob (Beatrice) Morrison, St. Peter’s; grandchildren, Rory and Eric Graham. She was predeceased by her darling infant granddaughter, Laura Graham; sisters, Joan Fleury, Mary Sanford, Charlotte MacDonald; brother, Fred Morrison. She will be missed by her grandsons that she adored and her precious cats Big Foot and the one she called "the baby".
In keeping with Bernice’s wishes, there will be no visitation or service. No flowers by family request. Memorial donations in Bernice’s memory may be made to CarMa (Cat Care) .
