Keefe, Clarence "Cank" Thomas- Age 81, of Little Dover, Guysborough County, passed away on Wednesday, July 20th, 2016 with his loving family by his side. He fought a short but courageous battle with Cancer. Born in Canso, on December 3, 1934, to the late Joseph and Mary (Haines) Keefe.
Cank worked for seven years on the lake boats and then came home to work at B.C. Packers as a fish cutter. Later he worked at National Seafoods Ltd. in Canso as a foreman until his retirement in 1992. He was a member of Little Dover Fire Department for many years, as well as, a member of the St. Agnes Parish in his community where he loved attending card plays with his buddies.
Clarence is survived by his loving wife, Theresa (Boudreau) of almost 60 years. He will be forever missed by his sons, Eddie (April) , Canso; Gerald (Jenny), Little Dover; Tom (Cindy), Antigonish; daughters, Mary (Kevin) Zinck, East River Pt.; Agnes (Dennis), Little Dover; Toby (Donald) George, Halfway Cove; Juanita (Paul), Little Dover; brother, Jerome (Ruthie); sisters, Marion Myatt, Paula Keefe, all of Little Dover; sister & brother-in-laws, Winnie (Howard) Jackson; Betty Boudreau; Evie Keefe; Tena Keefe; Gay Boudreau; Edward (Stella) Boudreau; Cletus Boudreau. He will be forever missed by his 20 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren, as well as, many nieces and nephews.
Clarence was pre-deceased by his two beloved children, Merle and April Keefe; brothers, John; Gabriel; sister, Francis; mother and father-in-law, Lala & Edward Boudreau; brothers and sisters-in-law, Laurie Richards; Gerard Myatt, Albert Boudreau; Les (Pauline) Boudreau; Arnold Boudreau; Gerald Boudreau; Bernice (Junie) Rossong; Lorraine Boudreau.
Visitation will be held from 2 - 9 p.m., on Sunday, July 24th in Dennis Haverstock Funeral Home, Canso. Funeral Service will be held on Monday, July 25th at 11 a.m. at the St. Agnes Parish Church, Little Dover with Father Dan MacDonald officiating. Reception to follow in St. Agnes Parish Hall. Interment in the Parish Cemetery, Little Dover. Family flowers only. If so desired, donations in memory of Clarence can be made to St. Agnes Parish or Charity of your choice.
