FOUGERE, Patrick Gerard - 51, Canso. It is with deep sadness we announce the sudden death of Patrick on Sunday, August 14, 2005. Pat was a son of Gerard and Mabel (McNeil) Fougere, Canso. He leaves to mourn his wife, Doreen (Collins) and their daughters Tanya (Steven) Myatt, Canso; Lisa (Corey Doyle) and grandson baby Blake, Canso; Jennifer (Ronnie Bouchie Jr.) and grandson Hudson, Petawa-wa, Ont. He is survived by brothers, Edward, Canso; Vincent, Halifax; Fred, Lawrencetown; sisters, Laura (Clayton) Haines, Canso; Mary (Ronnie) Helpard, Sheet Harbour; and his many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by brothers, Joseph and Michael. We remember with pride his days as a founding member of the Canso Trawlermen's Co-op, as a former union leader with the UFCW, and as a tireless supporter and advocate for fishermen. Pat was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 46, Canso, and volunteered on numerous boards and committees. His dedication and passion was always aimed at advancing the well-being of his beloved hometown. Pat's keen sense of humour, intelligence, love of his pets 'Cuddles' and 'Pebbles', and for performing karaoke with his many costumes and songs will be sadly missed. Visitation will be 2-9 p.m. today and Thursday in Dennis Haverstock Funeral Home, 121 School St., Canso. Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in Star of the Sea Roman Catholic Church, Father Daniel Boudreau officiating. Interment immediately following in the parish cemetery.
