FORGERON, Rita "Faye" - Age 69 of Port Hastings, passed away on Sunday, January 14, 2018 in Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney. Born in Tignish, P.E.I., she was a daughter of the late Robert and Sadie (Campbell) King (Port Hastings). Faye is survived by the love of her life, her husband of forty-three years, Samuel, daughters, Crystal and Starlene; granddaughters, Emma and Sophie; dear siblings, Marie (Perley) MacKinnon, Billy (Betty) MacRae, Gary (Joan) MacRae, Basil (Debbie) King, Francis (Doris) King, Gloria (Kenny) LeBlanc, Marlene (King) MacDonald and her many nieces and nephews, cousins and friends for whom she cherished and loved. She was predeceased by her sister, Catherine Irene King (Port Hastings). Faye celebrated twenty five years of additional life from receiving a kidney transplant in October 1992. She loved life and loved going to dances, shopping, travelling, knitting, spending time with her granddaughters, friends and family and her cats and dog. She always had a warm smile and a hug for all that knew her and concern for others more than herself. A special thank you to the nurses and doctors of Strait Richmond Hospital and the Cape Breton Regional Hospital that took care of her while she was in the hospital especially nurses and doctors of the Cardiac Care Unit. Visitation will be held 2 - 9 p.m. on Thursday, January 18 in Dennis Haverstock Funeral Home, 724 Granville St. Port Hawkesbury. Funeral mass will be held on Friday, January 19, at 10 a.m. in St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, Port Hawkesbury with Father Conrad Edwards officiating. Burial to follow in the parish cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Canadian Kidney Foundation, Canadian Heart and Stroke Foundation or your local Food Bank.
