George, Blair Osborne - Half Way Cove, Guysborough Co. It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Blair, at his home on Saturday, January 26, 2019. Born in Antigonish, July 17th, 1959. Blair was predeceased by his beloved wife, Marlene (O’Leary) George, his father, Joseph George and his brother, Bobby George. Left to mourn are his loving partner, Judy Marsh; his mother, Joan (Snyder) George; sons, Jason (Adrienne) and Jeffrey (Adrienne); Grampie’s precious grandkids, Jocelyn, Addison, Cameron, Landon, Charlie and Meara. Also surviving are brothers, Brian (Diane), Joseph (Darlene), Stanley (Angie), Donald (Toby), Derrick (Claudia); sisters Donna (Norbert), Joan (Brian), Molly (Roger) and Nancy (Wade). He is also mourned by many nieces and nephews. Blair worked with the Department of Transportation for 30 years and upon retirement established a successful quarry business in Halfway Cove and filled his lifelong dream of becoming a fisherman for a few years. He was an avid hunter who had the pleasure to travel throughout Canada to hunt various game for which he so proudly displayed in a camp on his property. Blair was also a devoted member of the community having served as a municipal councillor for the Municipality of the District of Guysborough for over 30 years. He is remembered most for always being there to help anyone in the community who was in need. Visitations for Blair will be held in St. James Anglican Church, Halfway Cove, from 4 to 9 p.m. Thursday and 4 to 9 p.m. Friday and from where the funeral service will be held on Saturday at 2 p.m. with Rev. Susan Slater officiating. Burial in St. James Anglican Cemetery, Halfway Cove. Reception to follow at Chedabucto Fire Hall, Queensport. Donations in his memory may be made to St. James Anglican Church, Halfway Cove or a charity of one's choice. Funeral arrangements are under the care and direction of Dennis Haverstock Funeral Home, Guysborough.
