Kew, Camilla It is with heavy hearts that we say goodbye to our beloved wife, mother and sister, Camilla Amelia Kew (Whitty). Camilla passed away Friday, Nov. 22nd, 2019 in the Halifax Palliative Care Unit, VG Site surrounded by her loving family and friends. Camilla was born on July 4, 1954 to Blanche Whitty (Morgan) of Sydney Mines and Timothy Whitty of Ingonish Beach. Having been raised in Sydney Mines, Camilla later moved to Thunder Bay, ON where she met her husband, Wayne. After many years, the pull of the ocean and her family, led them back to Cape Breton. All those that knew her, knew that Camilla was a loving and caring person. Spending her working years in various positions, always taking pride in providing wonderful service and having a positive impact on those around her. In later years, her desire to help seniors led her back to school to become a CCA, working in several nursing homes in Thunder Bay, as well as her last position, at Oceanview Manor in Neil’s Harbour. Camilla also enjoyed making beautiful jewelry and crafts and has made an abundance of friends over the years while attending many craft shows, as well as being a member of the legion in Port Hawkesbury. Camilla is survived by her husband, Wayne Kew, as well as daughter, Michelle (Paul) Mackley and son, Ernie (Terri Wadden) Redquest, both of Dartmouth; special grandchildren, Michael, Melissa and Brody. She is also survived by sisters, Jean Bell, Thunder Bay; Helen MacLean, Port Hawkesbury; brothers, Gus and Timmy (Wanda), both of Sydney Mines and Percy (Kim Dunphy) of Ingonish, as well as many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Camilla is also predeceased by sisters, Jacqueline (Jay) and Linda, as well as brother, Joseph in infancy, as well as many special fur babies. A service will take place on Wednesday, November 27th at 11a.m., under the direction of Dennis Haverstock Funeral Home, 724 Granville St., Port Hawkesbury.
