INNES, William Russell Charles passed away suddenly on Monday, January 13, 2020 at the age of 86. Bill was born on October 5, 1933 in Halifax and was the son of the late Grace (Bell) and Russell Innes.
A proud Haligonian, Bill lived and worked in Halifax before moving to Havre Boucher where he married Ruth. In the 50’s Bill was a top notch bookbinder, he also worked at McInnes Cooper and The Steven’s Group retiring from the later after 25 years. He will be remembered for his logic, wit, integrity, loyalty and perhaps a few "Bill" jokes.
Bill is survived by his wife, Ruth (Anderson/Nicholson); daughter, Deborah (Ron) Clark, Lucasville; stepchildren, Jason Nicholson, Moncton; and Hyla Nicholson (Scott Fowler), Halifax; grandchildren, Gregory (Michelle) Clark, Port aux Basques, NL; Andrew (Jennifer) Clark, Lower Sackville; Michael (Heather) Innes, Halifax; Bradley Innes, Halifax; grandchildren, Finley and Rory Fowler and Ella Nicholson; great-grandchildren, Emily, Stephen, James, Haley and Rachel; brother, Robert (Freda) Innes, Lower Sackville; sisters, Patricia Tarrant, Grand Banks, NL; Linda (Arthur) Cole, La Have; daughter- in-law, Susan Innes (Jim), Halifax; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Bill was predeceased by his parents, his son Stephen Innes and Elizabeth Innes Adamson.
There will be a celebration of Bill’s life on Friday, January 17, 2020 from 2 – 4p.m. at the Havre Boucher Community Centre, Havre Boucher. Burial at a later date. Words of comfort may be forwarded to the family at www.haverstocks.com. Donations in lieu of flowers can be made in Bill’s name to a charity of your choice.
