TONEY, Fabian Patrick – Age 59, We’koqma’q First Nations. It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our brother, uncle, godfather and a friend to many and loved deeply by all on Monday, April 20, 2020. Born in Inverness on October 7, 1960, he was a son of the late Benjamin Charles and Susan (Googoo) Toney. Fabian was a manager of We’koqma’q One Stop. He loved spending time at his cottage in Big Harbour Island and spending time in Maine. Fabian was a member of St. Katari Parish Holy Trinity Roman Catholic Church, We’koqma’q. Fabian is survived by his wife, Ericka; his dog, Max; sisters, Juanita (Dan J.) Paul, Grace (Joe Mike) Paul, Jacqueline Toney, and godson Morgan, all of We’koqma’q, sister in law, Laura "Elizabeth" Toney; brothers, Benedict (Annie Jane) Toney, Albert (Catherine) Toney and Bartholomew Toney, all of We’koqma’q; numerous nieces, nephews and godchildren. Besides his parents, Fabian was predeceased by his siblings, Dianne Toney, John Toney, Lena Bernard, Lloyd Toney, nephew Kevin D. Poulette, brothers-in- law, Lawrence "Lunch" Bernard, Dan J. Paul and sister-in-law, Annie Jane Toney. Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be from 2-8 p.m. on Friday, October 9, in the We'koqma'q Community Centre, 15 Reservation Rd., We'koqma'q First Nation. Funeral mass will be 10 a.m. Saturday from Blessed Kateri Parish, We'koqma'q First Nation with Father Conrad Edwards officiating. Burial at a later date.
