Power, Ann Viola (nee Chisholm) - Age 77 of St. Francis Harbour, Guysborough Co. Passed away peacefully on Monday, June 15, 2020 in St. Martha’s Regional Hospital, Antigonish. Ann was born in St. Francis Harbour. She was a daughter of the late John Joseph and Mary Catherine (Diggins) Chisholm. Ann is survived by her husband of 47 years, John; her son, Paul, St. Francis Harbour; daughter, Linda (Pierre), Middle Sackville; grandchildren, Josie, Cochrane, Alberta and Justin, Middle Sackville; sister-in-law, Gerry Chisholm, Hamilton; sister-in-law, Florence Chisholm, Antigonish and special cousin, Arletta Pettipas, St. Francis Harbour. Also, many special, loved nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, Ann was predeceased by her brothers, Tom, Jim, Eugene, William "Billy", Joseph "Joe", Jack, Lewis, Cyril Howard (in infancy) and sister, Cecilia MacLeod. Ann was the last surviving of her immediate family. Ann was proud of the time she spent working at the Department of Defense in Halifax before she moved home to St. Francis Harbour. She later retired from working at the hospital in Guysborough. Ann loved all of God’s animals. She was an avid bird watcher and fed the birds and squirrels each morning before anything else so she could sit and watch them while she had her toast and tea. She had the patience of a Saint and spent much time doting on her children and grandchildren. She was like a "second mom" to so many of their friends. In keeping with the Covid-19 restrictions, a private graveside service will take place. The funeral mass will be held at a later time, when family and friends will be able to gather. Further notice will be provided when appropriate. Family flowers only, please. Memorial donations in memory of Ann may be made to St. Francis of Assisi Cemetery Fund, St. Francis Harbour.
