Family, I attended West Kings 1969-1973. Bernie was our principal, those who showed respect earned his respect. My Family owned the Hillcrest Store in Greenwood back then. Bernie and Robbie, my Dad, were friends. Sorry to hear of his passing, often wondered where the family ended up.

Sorry to read of Mr. Hopes passing. My years as a student at WKDHS was him being the principal there. He was a bit of a hard liner, not much foolishness, as a result he had respect. May the Father of tender mercies and the God of all comfort be with his wife and family, knowing of a future resurrection to life on earth in God's kingdom, (Acts 24:15).

I am very sorry to hear that Bernie has passed away. He was the first teacher I worked with at the beginning of my career. We shared a class at Senior Elementary 1980-1981. I will never forget our class trip to Egypt Falls with two classes of students and no safety precautions as we would be under today's standards! We had many laughs over the years. My sincere condolences to the family.
