Mary Eleanor Eager Obituary

EAGER, Mary Eleanor - 79, Cleveland, Richmond Co., died Sunday, June 26, 2005, in QEII Health Sciences Centre, Halifax. Born at Crandall Road, she was a daughter of the late John A and Flora (MacGregor) MacQuarrie. She was a former employee of Cornet Cards, Port Hawkesbury and a former employee of the Nova Scotia Department of Tourism in St. Peter's. Eleanor was a member of Cleveland United Church and the UCW, and was involved in the Guysborough-Inverness Presbytery. Eleanor loved her flower gardens and enjoyed watching the hummingbirds, as well as her rooster collection. Surviving are daughters, Marlene, Tantallon; Joan, Bedford; sons, James (Diana), Cleveland; Wesley (Carol), Riverside; David (Margie), Hureauville; sisters-in-law, Beverly MacQuarrie, Port Hawkesbury, and Ethel Eager, Arlington, Mass.; cousin, Gordon (Jeanette) MacGregor, Mackdale; several nieces and nephews; grandchildren, Dale, Johnathon (Rachel), Paige (Adam) Jones, Mark; great-granddaughter, Aurora. She was predeceased by her husband, Lester; brothers, Angus, Lauchie, John Dan; sisters, Annie Blue and Evelyn Smith.


Visitation will be 7-9 p.m. this evening and 2-4, 7-9 p.m. Wednesday in Dennis Haverstock Funeral Home, Port Hawkesbury. Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Thursday in Cleveland United Church. Burial in Grantville Cemetery. Donations in memory of Eleanor may be made to Grantville Cemetery care of Neil Ferguson, PO Box 2, Cleveland, NS B0E 1J0.
