Easthouse John Swier “Jan”- 78 of Harbourstone Enhanced Care, Sydney , formerly of Roberta, Rich. Co. died Tuesday November 7, 2006. Born in Winschoten, Netherlands he was a son of the late Wiekpo and Geertje (Smet)Oosterhuis . He was a retired farmer and woodsman. Jan was an adherent of Black River United Church. He is survived by stepdaughter Heather MacQueen ( Roderick) Lime Hill; Stepson Keith MacLean (Rolande) Echo Bay, ON; son Kari Easthouse (Nadine) Roberta; sisters, Nan Ausma(Jan), Emmen; Ans Jansen-Oosterhuis, Winschoten; Auti Molenaar (Anton) Landsmeer; Siny Zandbergen (Jur), Hoogeveen; Emmy Lamens (Ronald), Eenrum; brothers Swier Oosterhuis (Ina) Lelystad; brother in law Wout Schouten, Baarn; grandchildren Janice MacLean (Michel); Leslie MacLean-Galka; Sidney Easthouse; Jake Easthouse. He was predeceased by wife, Katherine MacKay – MacLean, sister Jenny Schouten, granddaughter Neila Colleen MacLean in infancy. There will be no visitation. Funeral will be held 11 a.m. Friday, November 10 in Black River United Church, Rev. Jim Bragen officiating. Burial will be at a later date. No flowers by request. Donations may be made to South Mountain Arm of Gold Community Association, St. George’s Channel or charity of choice. Words of comfort may be forwarded to the family at www.haverstocks.com.
