Everett, Norman Francis - Age 84 years of Arbour Drive Extension, Antigonish County. Passed away on Thursday, October 4, 2018 in St. Martha's Regional Hospital, Antigonish. Born on September 19, 1934 in Halifax; he was brought up in an orphanage home in Truro.
He worked at the Canadian National Railway in Ontario as a Carmen for 29 years. Retired at the age of 60 years and moved back to Nova Scotia. He enjoyed going to dances, playing darts, making quilts, and watching wrestling with his buddy Joseph.
He is survived by his common-law partner of 21 years, Sharon Hanhams; sons, Francis Everett and Norman Junior both of Ontario; daughters, Diane Everett and Delores Everett both of Ontario; nine grandchildren and step-children, Wanda Hanhams and Jeffrey Hanhams.
He was predeceased by his wife Diane, brother, Robert, son, John, daughter, Henrietta and two special granddaughters, Morgan Snow and Madison Hanhams.
Visitation will be held from 2-9 p.m. on Wednesday, October 10, in the Half Island Cove Baptised Church and from where the funeral service will take place on Thursday, October 11th at 2 p.m. with Pastor David Wheeler officiating. Burial of ashes will be held at a later date.
Memorial donations may be made to the family or a charity of one’s choice. Funeral arrangements are under the care and direction of Dennis Haverstock Funeral Home, Canso. Words of comfort may be forwarded to the family at: www.haverstocks.com
