MacDonald, Lexina Agnes - 91, Harbourview, Inverness County, passed away peacefully in the Port Hawkesbury Nursing Home on Sunday, April 4, 2010. Born in St. Ninian, Inverness County she was the daughter of the late Archie and Mary (Rankin) MacMillan. She was known for her gentle nature, kindness and compassion toward others, as well as her strong connection to her Gaelic roots. She showed a deep commitment to her faith through daily prayer and she was a member of the St. Peter's CWL for over 50 years. She enjoyed a good cup of tea, adored her grandchildren and great grandchildren, and held a special place in her heart for animals. She is survived by her children, John (Julie), Harbourview; Mary Murray, Port Hawkesbury; Donald, Port Hastings; Marie (Clarence) Cameron, Port Hood; Joe, Harbourview; Leon (Mary), Harbourview, Bill (Willanna), Rankinville; and Frank, Harbourview; nine grandchildren and two great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Michael Duncan; son, Patrick; daughter, Louise; sisters, Annie Mae and Catherine; and brother, Duncan John. Lexina was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Visitation will be take place Tuesday, April 6, from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. in St. Peter's Parish Hall, Port Hood. Funeral Mass will be held Wednesday at 11a.m. in St. Peter's Roman Catholic Church, Port Hood with Fr. Victor Ozousanya officiating. Burial in the Parish Cemetery at a later date.
