RICHARDSON, Josephine Katherine "Josie" — 84, Dartmouth, formerly of Canso, died Tuesday, May 4, 2010, at her daughter Karen's residence surrounded by her loving family. Born in Canso, she was a daughter of the late Robert J. and Elizabeth Julia (Wood) Snow. Josie was a mother, homemaker and a fish plant worker, for 17 years. She was a member of Star of The Sea Parish, Canso. Josie is survived by daughters, Vadie (Bob) Scott, Hilda (Keith) Peters, Glennie Mercer and Karen (George) MacFarlane; son, Gerald; sisters, Vadie Thornhill, Alice (Ronnie) Cashin and Theresa Boutilier; brothers, Robert and Wilfred; grandchildren, Kyle, Kourtney, Robert, Shawn, Jakeman, Keirsten, Amanda, Cory, Patrick; great-grandchildren, Ashton, Skyler, Jaydon, Cassidy, Sadie , Andrew, Isabella. Josie was predeceased by her husband, Stanley "Stan"; sisters, Margaret and Jane; brothers, James, Raymond and Gerald. Visitation will be 7-9 p.m. today and 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Friday in Dennis Haverstock Funeral Home, Canso. Funeral mass will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 8, in Star of the Sea Roman Catholic Church, Canso with Father Andrew Gillies officiating. Burial in the Parish Cemetery.
