Luddington, Helena 'Patricia' (McCall), 83- Manchester, Guys. Co.; passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family in Guysborough Memorial Hospital on Friday, June 17, 2011. Patricia was a daughter of the late William and Mabel (Hayden) McCall. Patricia was a long standing member of the Ladies Auxiliary, Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 81, Guysborough. She was employed for many years at Guysborough Memorial Hospital. She enjoyed bingo, playing cards, gardening and watching hockey on Saturday nights with friends and family. Her greatest joy was preparing meals for large family gatherings and her many grandchildren. Her wit and sense of humor was enjoyed by all who knew her. She never missed the Guysborough County Older Adult Games and proudly wore her many medals won over the years. Patricia is survived by; Muriel (Everett) Guthro, Jack (Ligaya), both of Manchester; Mable, Antigonish; Barbara (Barry) Ehler, Lower Sackville; George, Leona (Colin Jr.) Purcell both of Manchester; Ralph (Karen), Kingston, Ont.; grandchildren, Wendy, Jeffery, Norman, April, Amanda, Paul, Evan, Andrew, Michael, Nelson, Nathaniel, Miranda, Mackayla and Reilly; great-grandchildren, Kasasra, Devon, Chloe, Sophie, and Noah; siblings, Emily Hart, Manchester; twin brothers, Fred and Gordon, Mulgrave; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Ralph Berton Luddington,; sisters, Carrie MacPherson, Rhoda Hart; brothers, Russell, Mackenzie and William; granddaughter, Jean Marie. A special thank you to all the Doctors, Nurses and Staff of Guysborough Memorial Hospital for your special care over the years. Visitation will be held in Dennis Haverstock Funeral Home, Guysborough Monday, June 20th from 2-9 p.m. Funeral service will be held Tuesday, June 21st at 11 a.m. in Boylston United Church, with Rev. Darroch Fagan officiating. Burial in Manchester Cemetery. Memorial donations in Patricia’s memory may be made to Guysborough Memorial Hospital.
