REDDICK, Clarence Everett- 61, Mulgrave. Passed peacefully away at home on Thursday, May 2, 2013. Born in Lincolnville, Guysborough County, he was a son of the late Sophie (Ash) (Reddick) Elms and Clarence Jordan. Clarence worked with the Canadian Coast Guard for 29 years, until taking early retirement in 2007 due to his illness. He served on the Strait Regional School Board since 2000, being the first African Nova Scotian to hold that office to the present. He is survived by his loving wife, whom he loved dearly, Joanne (Tynes); his daughters, Karra, Vancouver; Lisia, Montreal; Tanya, Toronto; stepdaughters, Faith (Wayne) and Tosha (Christopher) all of Toronto; stepson, Lloyd (Tiffney), Calgary; sisters, Sonja (Alonzo) Reddick, Lincolnville; Anna Lee (Brian) Maukman, Manitoba; brothers, Lawrence (Beverley) Ash, Thomas (Barb) Reddick, Kenneth Reddick all of Montreal; Wilfred (Lorraine) Reddick, Antigonish; several step-grandchildren, many nieces, and nephews. Besides his mother and father he was predeceased by step-father, Frederick Elms; sisters, Ester Medley, Shyann Reddick; brothers, Ambrose, Charles, James, Joseph Reddick. Visitation will be held Sunday, May 5 from 2-4 and 7-9 in Mulgrave and Area Resting Place, Mulgrave. His remains will be transferred to Tracadie United Baptist Church to rest Monday, May 6, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will be held Tuesday, May 7 at 2 p.m., from Tracadie United Baptist Church with Rev. Emmanuel Mutale officiating, assisted by Deacon Alonzo Reddick and Rev. David Wheeler. Burial will be in Sunnyview Cemetery. In Lieu of flowers, memorial donations in memory of Clarence may be made to Tracadie United Baptist Church. Funeral arrangements under the care and direction of Dennis Haverstock Funeral Home, Port Hawkesbury.
