HADLEY, Margaret Irene - 94, Port Shoreham, Guysborough Co., passed away on Friday, June 21, 2013, in the Milford Haven Home for Special Care, Guysborough. Born in New Waterford, Cape Breton, she was a daughter of the late Fenwick Milligan and Susie Annie (Gillis) Hadley.
She was active in the Port Shoreham U.C.W. group, where she was secretary for many years. She attended Bible study meetings, as well Bay View Senior’s gatherings. She was a member of Boylston United Church. She was a great cook and made biscuits, bread and sweets well into her 90’s.
Surviving are her husband of 67 years, Steven Hadley, Milford Haven Home for Special Care; sons, Russell, Guysborough; Billy (Johane), Port Shoreham; daughters, Nancy (Wayne) Hart, Boylston; Judy (Rick) Jones, Dartmouth; Janet (Pierre) Gilbert, Montreal; Ruth (Barry) Smith, Hammonds Plains; 15 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; sister, Kathleen McInnis, Sydney; many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by infant brother, Charles; brother-in-law, Howard McInnis; infant grandson, Philip Jones.
There will be no visitation. Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, June 25, from Boylston United Church, with Rev. Heather Manuel officiating. Burial will follow in Manchester Cemetery. Family flowers only please. Memorial donations in memory of Margaret may be made to Boylston United Church or to Manchester Cemetery. Arrangements are entrusted to Dennis Haverstock Funeral Home, Guysborough. Words of comfort may be forwarded to the family at www.haverstocks.com
