Obituary
Please share a memory of Eva to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
England (MacIntyre), Eva Iona, Age 77, of Port Hawkesbury, passed away suddenly on Wednesday, July 16, 2014, at home. Iona was born in Tangent, Alberta and grew up in North Sydney. She was the daughter of the late John and Ida (Ostrander) MacIntyre.
Iona was devoted to her husband of 53 years, her son and above all her precious grandchildren. She was extremely passionate about sports, especially her Maple Leafs, family and friends. She lived by the ethic that others came first and her generosity was felt by many, including those she may only have been acquainted with. She had a way of helping people through any difficulties with laughter. She brightened every room and conversation that she entered and was the life of every party. Iona lived with her heart on a daily basis and cherished every moment spent with her large circle of friends.
Iona is survived by her husband, David; son, Corey (Tanya), Port Hawkesbury; grandson, Logan Chisholm, Edmonton and grand-daughter, Sam England, Port Hawkesbury; siblings, Christina Hurley, Sydney Mines; Thelma Bubis, Ontario; Colin MacIntyre, Bras d’Or; Edward MacIntyre, Ontario; sisters-in-law, Shirley MacIntyre, Edna Quenneville, Ada (John) Durant, all of Ontario; brothers-in-law, Eric Brogan, Sydney Mines; Winston (Grace) England, Troy; and many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by sister, Ila Brogan and brother, Andrew MacIntyre.
There will be no visitation. Funeral mass will be held in St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, Port Hawkesbury at 10 a.m. Monday, July 21, 2014 with Rev. Conrad Edwards officiating. A reception will take place immediately following the funeral service in the church hall. Burial to follow in St. James Anglican Cemetery, Middle Melford.
