Please share a memory of Calestine to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
ENGLAND, Calestine A. "Toots" – 71, Steep Creek, Guysborough Co. It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that we share the sudden passing of our sister and aunt, Calestine, better known to us and friends as "Toots". Toots passed away in Guysborough Memorial Hospital on Wednesday, September 24, 2014, after a short battle with lung cancer.
Toots was born October 25, 1942, at home in Steep Creek, to our loving dad and mom, the late Howard and Jessie (Cummings) England. Toots worked at the telephone office in Mulgrave as a Telephone Operator and at Acadia Fish Plant. She leaves behind to grieve her passing, brothers, Preston, Steep Creek; Edward (Carol), Middle Melford; Ralph (Marion), Mulgrave; sisters, Geraldine Parks, Steep Creek; Lorna Josey, Halifax; Myra MacEachern, Dartmouth; a large number of nieces and nephews. Waiting with open arms to welcome Toots into heaven are her mom and dad; sister, Rena; brothers, Teddy, Earl, Sandy and Howard; niece, Marlene; nephews, Carson and Steven.
We would like to thank Guysborough Memorial Hospital and their staff, especially Karen for the care and kindness shown towards Toots. Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of Dennis Haverstock Funeral Home, Port Hawkesbury.
A graveside service will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, September 28, 2014, in St. James Anglican Church Cemetery, Middle Melford with Rev. Evelyn Knorr officiating. Memorial donations may be made to St. James Anglican Church, Middle Melford. Words of comfort may be forwarded to the family at www.haverstocks.com
