MacLEOD, Marie "Mary" RN -70, Kempt Road, Richmond Co., passed away suddenly on Wednesday, October 8, 2014, in St. Martha’s Regional Hospital. Born in Fredericton NB, she was a daughter of the late Elwin and Alice (Eastman) MacLean. She was a graduate of Sydney City School of Nursing and was employed with Richmond Villa in St. Peter’s. She enjoyed playing cards and scrabble, she was compassionate, loved playing with her granddaughters, her garden, shopping and baking. Marie will be sadly missed by her daughter, Catherine (Jeff Pilote), Dartmouth; sons, Wayne (Angela), Moncton; Brent (Mary), Sugar Camp; sisters, Gloria Ferguson, Marlene MacLean (Peter), Diana (Jimmie) Eager, all of Cleveland; Nettie Frost, Halifax; Louise (Paul) Legere, New Zealand; brother, Carl Campbell, Ont; granddaughters, Brianna, Sarah and Olivia; many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by 2 brothers and 2 sisters. Visitation will be from 3-7 p.m. Friday in Dennis Haverstock Funeral Home, Port Hawkesbury, from where funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday with Rev. Connie McNamara officiating. Cremation to follow. Private family burial at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia.
