Obituary
Please share a memory of Marilyn to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
LeVesconte (Dowling), Marilyn Elizabeth
Age 74, of St. Peter’s, passed away peacefully in the Strait Richmond Hospital surrounded by her loving family, on Tuesday, August 4, 2015. Marilyn was born in Halifax on October 7th, 1940.
In her early years, Marilyn worked as a medical secretary at Camp Hill Hospital in Halifax. After meeting the love of her life, Kenneth, she moved to St. Peter’s and started a family. She was employed as a secretary at St. Peter’s District High School and as a bookkeeper at Chedabucto Shipwrights. She was a talented seamstress and crafter. She shared a passion for boating with her husband and one of the highlights of their lives was the year they took their boat, "Dunscrapen" to Florida. They were each other’s anchor and compass in life. She had a very special bond with her grandchildren who each created his/her own unique relationship and traditions with her that will help keep her memory alive.
Marilyn is survived by her husband, Kenneth; daughters, Dawn (Greg), Dauphne (Johnnie) and Robin, grandchildren, Lauren, Christi, Steven, Leah, Rory and Erin, sisters, Theresa and Patricia and brothers, Arthur and Mike. She was predeceased by her brother, Ritchie, mother, Mary, father, Archibald, brother-in-law, Johnny, father-in-law, John (Jack) and mother-in-law, Ada.
We would like to extend a heartfelt thanks to Dr Pluta, Dr Collins, the RNs, LPNs and Team Aids at the Strait Richmond Hospital. Apart from their exceptional medical services, the family was comforted by the compassion shown towards Marilyn during her time there. We feel it aided in her peaceful passing.
Cremation has taken place. There will be no visitation. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Strait Richmond Palliative Care Society. Words of comfort may be forwarded to the family at www.haverstocks.com
