Please share a memory of Margaret to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
ENGLAND, Margaret Kathleen "Cathy"- Age 71, passed peacefully away surrounded by family on Saturday, September 24, 2016, in the R.K. MacDonald Nursing Home, Antigonish. Born on December 28, 1944, in Antigonish, she was the eldest child of 11 to Mary Elizabeth (MacDonald) and Donald Angus MacEachern.
She was a kind and wonderful mother, grandmother, wife, sister, aunt and friend. She enjoyed socializing and chatting with people over many a cup of Tim’s Coffee. Her son Ronnie and her daughter Lisa were her pride and joy. She loved to talk about their accomplishments. Her face lit up when she saw her two beautiful granddaughters, Sarah and Emma England. She was so proud of the wonderful ladies they have become.
She was a member of St. Lawrence CWL for 25 years and had a strong faith. In her early years she worked as a waitress in Antigonish and was known as an excellent waitress. She also enjoyed going to Ceramic classes and sewing classes where she had many laughs. She had a love for animals of all kinds. The loss of her daughter Lisa in 2011 left a huge hole in her heart as we can only imagine.
She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Lewis England; son, Ronnie (Jennifer); granddaughters, Sarah and Emma; sisters, Bernadette Miners (Bob), Smithers, BC; Mary Hadley (Jimmy), Mulgrave; Lorraine Bouchie (Joe), Antigonish; brothers, Jay (Terry), Surrey, BC; Eddie (Debbie), Pictou; Blaise, Langley, BC; John, Prince George, BC; Peter (Kathy), McAraas Brook; Leonard (Nancy), Antigonish; many nieces and nephews who she spoiled with many treats at her house. She was predeceased by her daughter, Lisa in 2011; her parents, Donald Angus and Mary Elizabeth; brother, Donald Francis; numerous aunts and uncles.
The family would like to thank the entire staff of the R.K. MacDonald Nursing Home, Antigonish for their wonderful care and compassion shown to Cathy these past 2 years. She was cherished by many staff and she grew very close to her caregivers, who made her smile each day.
