DIGGINS, Thelma Charlotte - 79, St. Francis Harbour, Guysborough Co., died Saturday, July 10, 2004, in Guysborough Memorial Hospital. Born in Sand Point, Guysborough Co., she was a daughter of the late Edward and May (Miller) Diggins. Thelma was a devoted daughter, wife and mother. She owned and operated Diggins' Store, St. Francis Harbour, and was a member of St. Francis Parish, St. Francis Harbour. She is survived by daughter, Irene, St. Francis Harbour; son, Billy and partner Linda, Stoney Creek, Ont.; sisters-in-law, Mona Diggins, New Glasgow; Lena Carr and Annie Grady, both of St. Francis Harbour; grandchildren, Tyson and Kayla England, St. Francis Harbour. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She was predeceased by her husband, Alex; daughter, Marlene England; grandson, Matthew; brother, Earl. Visitation will be 7-9 p.m. today, 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Wednesday in Dennis Haverstock Funeral Home, Guysborough. Funeral mass will be held 11 a.m. Thursday in St. Francis Roman Catholic Church, Rev. Konstanty Pruszynski officiating. Cremation to follow. Burial in the parish cemetery at a later date. Donations in memory of Thelma may be made to the St. Francis Cemetery Fund or Guysborough Memorial Hospital. Words of comfort may be forwarded to family at: www.haverstocks.com
