DeLAZZER, Joseph Peter 'Joe' - 76, Port Hawkesbury, died Thursday, February 2, 2006, in Strait Richmond Hospital, Evanston. Born April 24, 1929, in Dominion, he was a son of the late Peter and Marie Antonette DeLazzer. Joe started his own business at age 17 and later, he worked for Tidewater Construction, Canso Excavators and was part owner of B&D Ready Mix. He then went on to own companies Del Mix Limited, Port Hawkesbury Crane, Del Trucking, Canso Excavation, and his present company J&L Sanitation. He loved horses and traveling with his wife Lynn. Joe is survived by his loving wife of 33 years; also his pride and joy, daughter, Adree; his children, Joseph, Anita, Douglas and David DeLazzer; stepchildren, Darren (Shelly), Ralph (Colleen) and Tom (Wanda) Harb; brother-in-law, Dale (Penny) Sellers; sister, Olga; brother, Bruno; his beloved grandchildren, Michael, Coady, Kaitlyn, Laura, Kerry, Emma, Madison, Randi, Kallie, Dreina, Dustin, Jessica; great-grandchildren, Myia, Hannah, Cassie, and Zane; beloved nieces and nephews, and best friend, Wilbur.
Visitation will be 7-9 p.m. Saturday, 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Sunday with vigil service 8:30 p.m., in Dennis Haverstock Funeral Home, Port Hawkesbury. Funeral mass will be held at 11 a.m. Monday in St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church, Father Bill Crispo officiating. Burial at a later date.
