David, Placide John, 83 - Port Felix, Guysborough County, Passed away on Saturday, November 20, 2010 in the R.K. MacDonald Nursing Home, Antigonish. Born in Port Felix, he was a son of the late Ruben and Mary Victoria (Pellrine) David. Placide was a self-employed fisherman and a former fish plant worker. He enjoyed playing cards and bingo. He is survived by his wife, Mary Agnes (Emmons) (Colp) David, son, John (Margaret) David, Whitehead; stepson, Howard (Rita) Colp, Little Dover; stepdaughter, Glenda Colp, Halifax; step-grandson, Mitchell Colp, Alberta and numerous nieces and nephews. Placide is the last surviving member of his immediate family. He was predeceased by his brothers, John, Stephen and Cornelius; and sister, Lucy Ann Greencorn. Visitation will be held from 12-2 p.m. Thursday, in St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church, Port Felix from where the Funeral mass will held at 2 p.m., with Father Jonathan Nweke officiating. Burial in the parish cemetery. Donations may be made in Placide’s memory to St. Joseph’s Cemetery Fund. Funeral arrangements are under the care and direction of Dennis Haverstock Funeral Home, Canso.
