DIGDON, (Hendsbee) Agatha Amelia, - 86, Guysborough, Guys Co. died Saturday, August 20, 2011, in Guysborough Memorial Hospital, Guysborough. Born in Sand Point, Guysborough Co., she was a daughter of the late Vernon and Ann (Laurie) Hendsbee.
Agatha received her early education in Sand Point, and was a graduate of Provincial Normal College, Truro. She taught school for 30 years in several rural schools of Guysborough Co. She is survived by her youngest brother, Ben (Beverly), Halifax; sisters-in-law, Mary Hendsbee-Johnson (Ray), Porter’s Lake; Ann Hendsbee, NL; several nieces and nephews, several great nieces and nephews, as well as special nephew, Wayne Pelly. Besides her parents she was predeceased by her husband, Clayton Digdon, brothers, Seward "Bud" and Delbert.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, August 23, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. in Dennis Haverstock Funeral Home, Guysborough. Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, August 24, from Wesley United Church, Guysborough, with Rev. Darroch Fagan officiating. Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Guysborough at a later date. Family flowers only please. Memorial donations may be made to Guysborough Memorial Hospital, Kidney Foundation of Nova Scotia, or to a charity of one’s choice.
