DORRINGTON, Shirley Belle -76, Sunnyville. God has called one of his Loving Angels home on Saturday January, 21, 2012 in Guysborough Memorial Hospital surrounded by her loved ones. Born in Sydney Mines, she was a daughter of the late Hazel MacLean. She was a member of Sunnyville United Baptist Church and Ladies Auxiliary. She enjoyed music, singing and baking. She was a nanny/housekeeper for Elizabeth and Stanley MacDonald, Doctor and Mrs. MacLean and Doctor and Mrs. Hastings of Guysborough for many years. Shirley was employed at National Sea Foods in Canso for several years before retiring in 1990. She was a loving devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. Shirley is survived by her loving husband of 57 years, James; daughters, Janice (Herb) Mansfield, Etobicoke, On; Sharon Dorrington, Sunnyville; Kathy Dorrington, Canso; Mary Ellen (Karim) Khaki, Etobicoke, ON; Angela Dorrington; Karen (Roy) Porter, both of Brampton, ON; Tracy Dorrington, Dartmouth; sons, Jimmy (Theresa), Sunnyville; Bernie (Gail), Guysborough; Danny (Michelle), Dartmouth; Terry (Nancy), Eastern Passage; Brian, Toronto, ON; 20 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; sisters, Patricia (Ernest) Clyke, Sunnyville; Donna MacLean, Dartmouth; many nieces and nephews. Shirley was predeceased by an infant brother Ronnie. Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be 2-10 p.m. Wednesday January 25 at Sunnyville United Baptist Church from where the funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Thursday with Pastor David and Betty Wheeler officiating. Burial in Evergreen Cemetery, Guysborough. Family flowers only please. Memorial donations may be made to Guysborough Memorial Hospital or Sunnyville United Baptist Church.
