DOREY, Joseph George- Age 72, Port Hawkesbury. It is with heavy hearts that the family of Joseph announces his sudden passing on Friday, March 24, 2017, at home. Born in Arichat he was a son of the late William Albert and Evelyn (Covin) Dorey. Joseph had a love for life and loved making crafts, such as sailboats and duck’s. He was loved by everyone that knew him. He will be sadly missed by the love of his life and best friend, his loving wife of 40 years, Jane (MacNeil) Dorey; brothers, Ambrose, Port Royal; Thelma (Betty), Raymond (Amelda), both of West Arichat; sisters, Kathleen Dorey, Evangeline Dorey, both of West Arichat; Zita Boudreau, Violet Bonin, both of Port Royal; sister-in-law, Ann, West Arichat. Besides his parents, Joseph was predeceased by brothers, Arthur and David; nephew, Robert; father and mother-in-law, David and Marie MacNeil. Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be from 2-9 p.m. on Wednesday in the Dennis Haverstock Funeral Home, Port Hawkesbury. Funeral mass will be 10 a.m. Thursday from St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, Port Hawkesbury with Father Conrad Edwards officiating. Burial in the parish cemetery.
