CHISHOLM, Ruth - 78, Whycocomagh. It is with deep sadness and broken hearts that we announce the passing of Ruth, our beloved wife, mother and grandmother, surrounded by her loving family, which occurred in Alderwood Rest Home, Baddeck on Wednesday, March 7, 2007. Born in Whycocomagh, Inverness Co., she was a daughter of the late John S. and Jessie (McQueen) Munro. Ruth was a member of St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church, Whycocomagh. She is survived by Murray, her loving husband of 55 years; daughter, Eleanor (Perry) Pye, Dartmouth; sons, John (Carolle), Robert (Cathy), all of Dartmouth; grandchildren, Ainsley, Kyle, Trevor, and stepgranddaughter, Katelyn. Also surviving are sisters, Jean MacAulay, Whycocomagh; Lorraine (Clark) MacDougall, Sydney; sister-in-law, Miriam Munro, Whycocomagh; brothers, George (Gladys), Stewart (Cindy), Robert (Norma), all of Whycocomagh; many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by brothers, Alcorn "A.A.", Donald "D.J.".
Visitation will be held from 2-9 p.m. today in Dennis Haverstock Funeral Home, Whycocomagh. Funeral service will be held Saturday, March 10, at 11 a.m. in St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church with Rev. Lloyd Murdock officiating, followed by family burial in Stewartdale Cemetery. Family flowers only please. Donations in Ruth’s memory may be made to Alzheimer Society of Nova Scotia or a charity of choice. Special thanks to Dr. C. Chow, management and staff of Alderwood Rest Home, Baddeck.
