With deep sorrow, we regret to announce the death of Rod Chisholm of Halifax, on Thursday, November 26, 2009, at the age of 79. Born in Harve Boucher, Rod was the son of the late Daniel and Margaret (Chisholm) Chisholm. We will remember Rod as a loving brother, a man who quickly made friends as he travelled to work in many communities across the country and an individual with a great sense of humour. We will particularly miss hearing his familiar ‘hello there’. Rod is survived by his children, daughters, Margaret, Marilyn and Virginia and by his son, John. He is also survived by his loving and caring sisters, Mary Redmond and Agnes Corbett (Ronald), both of Halifax and Theresa Gillis (Hughie) of Mississauga and sister-in-law, Marie (the late Archie) of Antigonish. He was also predeceased by his other brother, Hugh John. A mass will be held by Father Jim Anderson at Northwood Centre. Interment will follow on a date to be announced, at St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Port Hawkesbury under the direction of Dennis Haverstock Funeral Homes. A very special thank you is extended to the many wonderful, kind and dedicated staff at Northwood Centre of Halifax who together, for the past seven years, provided Rod a wonderful life.
