Chisholm, Ada Lillian – 88, St. Francis Harbour, passed away Friday July 23, 2010 in Guysborough Memorial Hospital. Born in Melford, Guysborough County, she was a daughter of the late Franklyn and Lillian (Grady) England and foster daughter of Bob and Namoi Grady of St. Francis Harbour. In her younger years Ada assisted Bob and Namoi in running their various business endeavours. She was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Parish, St. Francis Harbour, a member of St. Francis C.W.L. since the age of 11. Ada was an excellent mother & homemaker. No Visitor ever left her home without a good hot cup of tea and a snack. She enjoyed her many hours spent in the garden, knitting and quilting. She is the last surviving member of her immediate family. She is survived by daughter, Carol, St. Francis Harbour; sons, Ronnie, Hamiton, ON; Gerry, St Francis Harbour; granddaughter, Kim; great grandson, Cole. She is predeceased by her husband, Tom; 3 children in infancy; sister, Evelina England; brothers, Cecil and Bill; daughter-in-law, Margaret, granddaughter, Jackie. Visitation will be held 2-9 p.m. Sunday in Dennis Haverstock Funeral Home, Guysborough. Funeral mass will be held 11 a.m. Monday, July 26 in St. Francis of Assisi Roman Catholic Church, St. Francis Harbour with Father Allan MacPhie officiating. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Family flowers only, please. Memorial donations in memory of Ada may be made to St. Francis Cemetery Fund or Guysborough Memorial Hospital Auxiliary.
