CHISHOLM, Elsie Catherine - 83, Port Hawkesbury passed away peacefully surrounded by the love of her family, on Wednesday, September 12, 2012 in Aberdeen Regional Hospital, New Glasgow. Elsie was born in Port Hawkesbury, January 20, 1929 she was a daughter of the late Harold and Lillian Warner of Port Hawkesbury. She worked in the Sweet Shop in Mulgrave in the early 1950’s. She then worked at the Sheiling Motel in Port Hastings and retired from Keddy’s Motel, Port Hastings. She loved to play cards and bingo and chat on the phone with her many friends and family. Family was her devotion. She will be remembered by her kind and gentle demeanor and her love of life. Elsie is survived by her daughter, Marlene (Clark) Ryan, Port Hawkesbury; grandchildren, Evan (Shauna), Port Hawkesbury; Marsha (Kyle) , Halifax; husband, Earl, Port Hawkesbury; sisters, Alice (Albert) LeBlanc, Belle Cote; Evelyn Sutherland, Port Hawkesbury; 7 nieces and 13 nephews. She was predeceased by her brother, Harold "Bud" Warner; sister, Anna ‘Beryl" Blacquiere; triplet brothers at birth; two brother-in-laws and a niece. She was a resident of Milford Haven Home for Special Care, Guysborough for the last 11/2 year. We would like to thank all the staff at Milford Haven Home for Special Care who were so attentive to Elsie. Also thank you to the nurses and doctors at Aberdeen Regional Hospital. Visitation will be held from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. with a vigil service at 2 p.m., Sunday, September 16, both in Dennis Haverstock Funeral Home, Port Hawkesbury. Funeral mass will be 10 a.m. Monday from St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, Port Hawkesbury, with Father Bill Crispo officiating. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery. Memorial donations may be in Elsie’s memory to Alzheimer’s Society of Nova Scotia or Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia.
