CLEARY, Clara Jeanette (Downey), Guysborough Intervale, Guysborough Co. – 88, passed away in Milford Haven Home for Special Care, Guysborough on Thursday, September 20, 2012. She was a daughter of the late Vincent and Christina (Rodgers) Downey, (Lynn, Massachusetts). She was a woman of strong Christian faith and devoted her life to caring for her family. She was an avid knitter and enjoyed playing cards. She is survived by daughters, Mary Auldeen Cleary, Scarborough, Ont.; Marilyn (Blake) Higgins, Fonthill, Ont.; Sharon (Scott) Hart, Port Shoreham; Grace (Louis) MacDonald, Merigomish; Cathy (David) Wyatt, Stouffville, Ont.; Gwen (Lawrence) Mateeseje, Jordon, Ont.; Paulette (Charles) Naussey, Chezzetcook, Halifax Co.; and sons, Brian, Winnipeg; Jack, Fort Saskatchewan; Leo, Boylston; Jerome (Nicole) Cleary, Nanaimo, B C; several grandchildren and great- grandchildren. She is predeceased by husband, Gregory Cleary; sons, Owen, Duane, and David; infant daughter, Eva Clare; sister, Mary; brother, Jack; and grandsons, Tony Askov, and Shane Wyatt. Visitation will be Sunday, September 23 in Dennis Haverstock Funeral Home, Guysborough from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Funeral mass will be held from St. Patrick’s Roman Catholic Church, Guysborough Intervale, on Monday at 11 a.m. with Father Allan MacPhie officiating. Donations in Clara’s memory may be made to Milford Haven Home for Special Care, Guysborough or The Heart & Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia.
