CHASE, Catherine Mae, - 54, Sunnyville, Guysborough Co., passed away on Wednesday, October 3, 2012 in Guysborough Memorial Hospital.
Born in Halifax, she was a daughter of the late Hughie and Frances (Borden) Desmond. Catherine was one to always volunteer for community events, and would lend a helping hand wherever it was needed. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend.
She will be sadly missed by everyone. Surviving are her partner, David Clyke, Sunnyville; daughter, Anita Desmond, Sunnyville; sons, Derrick Clyke, Sunnyville; Kyle Snow, Montreal; sisters, Marjorie Chase, Audrey Snow, both of Montreal; Rita Clyke, Sunnyville; brothers, Anthony Oliver, Toronto; Norman Izzard, Sunnyville; grandchildren, Channon Lucas-Desmond, Taya Lucas-Desmond, Meeya Parker, Lawrence Xavier Chase Purdy and Devon Snow.
Visitation will be from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday, in Sunnyville United Baptist Church. Funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday, from Sunnyville United Baptist Church, with Rev. Betty Wheeler officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Guysborough. Memorial donations may be made to Guysborough Memorial Hospital.
