Cameron, Archie J. – 75, Whycocomagh formerly of West Lake Ainsle. It is with very sad hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Archie on Friday, January 25, 2013 at the QEII, Health Sciences Centre, Halifax surrounded by his loving family. Archie was a fun loving guy who loved fiddle music and square dances, walking, biking, a good joke, and who lived his life to the fullest. In his younger years Archie worked in the mines in Sudbury, Ontario and also worked in the woods around home, also worked at Texaco garage for Donald Mac Morrison. He worked for brother-in-law, Fred driving the oil truck and for VanZuphen Bros. driving a cement truck. He worked at Little Narrows Gypsum, also drove for Graham Munro, Gordie Ellis and John Cameron Trucking of Mabou. After retiring he drove as a spare driver for Canada Post. He is survived by his loving wife Alice (Ingraham), his pride and joy, Adrian, RCMP Depot, Regina and Ashley Whycocomagh; brother, Gus (Matilda) ,Mabou; sister, Margie (Fred) Whycocomagh; sister-in-law Muriel, Whycocomagh; nephews, David (Trish), Ontario; Darren (Mary Anne), Troy; Shawn (Ellen), Edmonton; Robbie (Amy), Timberlea; Jason (April,) Beaver Bank; Michael and Charles, California; nieces, Shelley (David), Antigonish and Sophia, Iowa. Several grand nieces and nephews. Archie also leaves behind a number of very close and dear friends. He was predeceased by his mother and father, Catherine (MacDonald) and John Cameron, and sister, Florence Martin and brother-in-law, Cliff Martin. Visitation will be held 7-9 p.m., Monday and 2-9 p.m. Tuesday in Dennis Haverstock Funeral Chapel, Whycocomagh. Funeral mass will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, in Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church, West Lake Ainslie with Father Danny MacLennan officiating. Burial at a later date in St. Mary’s Cemetery, West Lake Ainslie. Memorial donations in memory of Archie may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia.
