CHANDLER, Joel Cecil – 20, of Port Hood, Inverness Co., passed away on Tuesday, July 23, 2013, in Harbourview, Inverness Co., as the result of a motor vehicle accident. Born in Inverness, he was a son of Gary Lee and Beulah Anne (Morrison) Chandler. Joel was brought up under the sound of the Glorious Gospel of Christ which he heard at the Gospel Hall in Blues Mills early in his life. Joel was marked by thoughtfulness, caring and empathy and always would take up for the underdog. He was very talented and could do whatever he set his mind to do. He was proud of his heritage and loved nature and fishing and lived his life to the fullest. Joel had a beautiful sense of humour and could always find the good. He had a quiet faith in God and prayed the sincerest prayers. His beautiful smile and twinkling mischievous grin will be so missed as will his reassurances that: "Everything will be alright, don’t you be worrying about me." Surviving are his paternal grandparent, Ruth Chandler, Soapstone Mines and the late Raymond Chandler; maternal grandparents, Patricia Pond and Stirling Morrison (Cheryl), all of Port Hood; sisters, Margaret, Moriah and Eden, all at home; brothers, Jesse, Isaiah, Noah, Jude and Isaac, all at home, as well as several aunts, uncles and cousins. He was predeceased by his cousin, Jacob Morrison. Visitation will be from 7-9 p.m. Thursday and from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Friday, in the Port Hood Community Funeral Home. Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Saturday in the Bayview Education Centre, Port Hood, with Albert Hull and John Bain officiating. Burial will follow in Stewartdale cemetery. A reception will follow in the Blues Mills Gospel Hall. Memorial donations may be made to the Children’s Wish Foundation.
